btw I just gogled this and wdecided to share the find:

Does Ferrari make a v6?
Ferrari currently makes a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 for various Maserati models, and it played a big role in developing Alfa Romeo's new 2.9-liter V6, which is said to be based heavily on Ferrari's 3.9-liter V8. It's unclear if this new V6 will be used by Alfa and/or Maserati, or by Ferrari itself.

Ferrari is currently developing an entry level sportscar with a V6 that might be used on the coming SUV

I see it as a great opportunity for IndyCar, and they'll do whatever it's on their hands to have them in the series. The exposure of having Ferrari is too good to let go.

I can see it happening too. They can develop an Indy engine that can serve as the base for other efforts (Le Mans?). And they now how to deal with a hybrid engine (is that still happening in IndyCar?).

Some speculated that Scuderia Corsa's involvement at the 500 in 2018 and a part-time entry last year was Ferrari dipping their toes in Indy's waters. After all, they are Ferrari's works team in NA.

I don't see a full "Ferrari" effort though, they could use SC as their works team.

And about building their own chassis, I don't see Dallara losing their monopoly in the near future. Maybe we can have some well-written technical rules that could allow different chassis manufacturers without having a spike in costs and a loss in racing quality. And if all chassis manufacturers manage to build competitive cars, the cheapest one can rule the overall buying cost.

Indy needs more manufacturers. Cars and engines. And Ferrari could be the real turning point we've expecting for years.

No changes to the current engine plans, would be a spec-hybrid system however it appears

Took my Pocono race away, Richmond falls to disease.

Ugh. I really think the races could be done with limited fans if people would play ball. But people are dumb so here we are.

Same :( I know there's much bigger concerns in the world, and even in my own life, but I'm honestly crestfallen at this one. I've been bugging various social media accounts tied to the league and the track like a one man IndyRVA street team the past couple of years and we finally get it and the world goes to shit.

I just hope they run it next year if we all survive.

Well, either this means that A: Roger gets the law changed, B: musical chairs at a couple teams (the most likely of the bunch), or C: races canceled
https://racer.com/2020/05/23/racers-not ... xceptions/

-

Guessing this could help a couple drivers get some more races on their schedule if the ruling doesn't change & Texas / Road America still happens on their original slots.

Still no race thread so I'll post this here. Carlin's #31 that was supposed to be driven by Felipe Nasr has been withdrawn from the TMS opener (due to economical issues related to COVID).

It's a few days old but i didnt see it here yet. Indycar is placing limits on how many laps the tires can be used for.
https://racer.com/2020/05/27/tire-stint ... as-return/

Basically, because of the shutdowns, Firestone was unable to produce the correct tires for the race. Right sides are similar to last years race but the lefts are Indy tires. Combine this with the changes from the aeroscreen and it seems Indycar is playing it safe.
