"Seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson will get his first run in an IndyCar next month during a test at Barber Motorsports Park. The opportunity comes via the Arrow McLaren SP team, which uses Chevrolet engines for its pair of entries for Pato O’Ward and Oliver Askew."

Nasr confirmed for St. Pete only (for now), which fills the grid for this weekend.

Daly will share the #59 with Chilton and will therefore complete the entire championship.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Wow, that's fucked up!

Edited: if I actually processed what I read, the reason is right in his tweet

I have never been more grateful that Roger Penske bought this series than I am today. There is clearly going to be significant disruption even if they manage to get through this weekend without any further changes in the situation. There will be a lot of lost revenue as contracts will be breached (completely beyond the control of the contractees, but that won't matter). A large number of teams will end up on the edge of viability, and if the Hulman-Georges were still in charge then there would be nothing they could do to help as the spare money would not be there (and if they missed out on an Indy 500 crowd then they would be in trouble themselves).

But Penske can take a bath on this, at least for one season, and Indycar can come out on the other side in good health.

If you want to imagine what would have happened if Liberty had bought it, you don't need to think very hard at the moment.

Expect the Indy GP to be canceled or rescheduled, first weekend without this would be 500 practice week

So......

What happens if this affects the 500...

Can Indycar even go a year without the 500 refilling their collective coffers :whistling:

The 500 will not be happening in May, at least not with fans in attendance.

The guideline words it as a "recommendation". They could still go ahead with the races, could they not?

CoTA has also been completely mothballed until normal business resumes.

Well the 500 is after the 8 weeks, they can do early practice behind closed doors easy.
