Good to see Bourdais back in the series, Foyt will do well with him in their car.... still gutted seeing that Sealmaster car driven by a tool this year.

In other news, looking more likely McLaughlin will make an appearance for the finale

Quote:
Scott McLaughlin has applied to the Australian Government for a travel exemption with a view to debuting in the IndyCar Series later this year.

The Shell V-Power Racing Team driver has long been in the frame for a drive in the USA with Team Penske.

However, plans hatched earlier this year to race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the road course were thwarted by COVID-19.

With recent changes to the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship calendar, the season will conclude at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on October 15-18.

The IndyCar Series season finale follows a weekend later on October 23-25 on the half-street half-airfield St. Petersburg circuit.

Looks dangerous. As much as I love them, high speed street tracks are not a good idea.

If there's still an intact society and we have a reliable vaccine, I'm gonna go to Nashville to watch race cars and take pictures the whole goddamn weekend.

If you just showed me the outline and gave me no other information, I'd guess that was the track for the layout for a Grand Prix in 1934. Looks like the Big Dipper (Plough) too lol

Well, I am looking at google earth image of that place, looks like that straight will have around 11m width each side :P

EDIT:
Soo, I've spend some time just looking at this track:

1.Start straight around 1030m, where:
-830m have about width of 11m MAX
-last 200m going into the T1 can have about 22m
2.First corner will narrow from that 22m to 13/12m max (Macau T3 maybe?)
3. T4/T5 chicane is necessary, there is no chance of any runoff at T6. They could end in moving that barriers into start straight like Maldonado in Monaco 2013 at Tabac
4. Backstraight +/- 800m, same as main, about 11m of width, going into T7 there's chance to get about 2/3m more
5. T7-T11 complex is fun, all that corners have in total around 320m, and T8 reminds me a little bit of Baku...T8 corner. I don't see width of that corner to reach more than 7m

Here's how T8 looks like (on the right, camera is standing in fact in T11 there  )

I like the look of that. As long as there's good escape roads at the end of the long straights, it should be safe enough. The start might be chaotic.

Much of the layout reminds me of that scrapped F1 race in downtown Miami from a few years back.

This guy drives around the track, walks the area and shows where things will be for the track. The bridge. WOW, the pictures will be amazing. If you want to just see a quick shot of the bridge its right at exactly 3:00.
