The new schedule also states that the number of practice days has been dropped by 2, with opening day for the 500 now slated for August 12th

I wonder why they didn't tried a Brickyard 400 - Indy 500 double header.

Maybe NASCAR didn't wanted to be treated as a 2nd tier event.

so how will be Nascar feelings pulling a shit show after a good Indycar display?

(judging by how the Indycars are doing great on road courses nowadays and that they will race in the wet)

Very good schedule under the cirumstances. The 500 misses the worst of summer. Hope they get the chance to complete it.

Andretti's graphic designers have done a good job with the aeroscreen on Hinch's car.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Unless they get a lucky streak of cool weather, it's gonna be slippery as fuck out there.

Toronto will likely get KO'ed by this unless they build the track up in record time

The whole way North America is going, I really can't see there being a season this year, I just hope Indycar even survives it. And things have been looking so so so promising

*sigh*

I don't know why they're still trying. Just cancel the entire season. Racing ain't gonna happen this year.

There's just too much uncertainty one way or another to do that IMHO. We'll see what happens.

Too much uncertainty for sure, but all of the series has to get back going as soon as it's safe enough to do so - otherwise it's a near collapse situation for motorsport as we know it.

1 positive to this situation though (if it ends early - I'm thinking July 4th or later personally):
It's finally got the pissing matches between all of the major series to end (for now) & forced their hands to try things that the fans has begged for decades (doubleheader shows with other series being the big one)

The decision over Detroit seems to be more motivated by the fact that they would have to start work on building the track very shortly, which isn't going to be possible. Toronto will have the same problem so I wouldn't expect that race to happen either.

But the rest of the calendar has time. Texas is 2 months away. If the US is clearly past the peak in a month then that race seems plausible.
