Belle Isle hosts round #7 & round #8 of the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season at The Raceway at Belle Isle with the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix.

Supporting the weekend includes the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship, and the TA2 cars of the Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli. This is the 30th anniversary of the Detroit Grand Prix for IndyCar / CART, the first being in 1989.

Pagenaud ended the second session. Brushed the wall in the last set of corners and stalled the car just before the pit entry.

Hmmm now hearing about Veach's knee/steering wheel issue and then Alonso breaking his steering wheel with his knee, this might be something Indycar would want to look into. I can't remember this issue before so maybe its just something that happens at Indy with the higher impact speeds but still, it seems silly that they are putting windshields on these things while drivers are nearly breaking their kneecaps from simple spins.

Yeah they always planned to show qualifying at 5pm, did they not realise that meant it was them tape delaying the feed and they'd have to rewind to show qualy?

They're probably just pumped in the live feed and there's a gap between sessions

They're supposed to start at 3:50pm eastern time, which is in about 20 minutes.

They'll start in the wet, it's just the threat of lightning in the area that's delaying things.
