After all the bitching about Sonoma being a shitty finale, what's the bet this race is a classic with the new cars?

Going to try and watch this one live. Rooting for Rossi, even though I was awful mad at him for taking out Wickens in St. Pete.

I wanna watch it live but who knows if power & cable is going to be on at this point. Would try streaming it on a phone but cell service is horrid on a good day, can only imagine during a tropical storm / hurricane

Some good passing areas already (dragstrip, the backstraight chicane) so I think it will be a decent race

This race has a good chance of being the best sonoma race, whether that can be out and out good is another issue.

The teams are pretty huge on fuel saving here since ordinarily they can't pass, they work their fuel strategy to the max to get by in the pitstops.
So they're still going to have all that data, if cars don't make moves on the first lap or 2 they'll still sit there and save fuel, new cars or not.

In the end, one good race won't make me miss this place and the stupid layout they run here. #nochicaneffs

Oh yeah, and congrats Scott Dixon, Indycar Champion 2018

Championship scenarios:
Quote:
There are only two scenarios that will seal the deal for Dixon to earn his fifth championship: If he earns the victory on Sunday or finishes second. Dixon will also clinch the championship if Rossi finished 13th or worse due to the double-points weekend.

The only sure way for Alexander Rossi to secure his first championship is to win while Dixon finishes third or worse.

The two outsiders in Newgarden and Power have to win the race on Sunday in order to even be in the conversation. Along with the victory, Dixon would need to finish 24th or worse and Rossi would need to finish 10th or worse. If either Power or Newgarden finishes second, they will be eliminated from winning the championship.
