I may contemplate going to that race next year as well.

I kinda feel that the race was thrust upon them last minute last year and then they thought heck why not have it again in 2017 and things weren't properly done, hopefully it does return with more thought put in

Portland is boring as shit without rain. Watkins rocks no matter what. Indycar and The Glen had a big disagreement over some ticket issues this year. Indycar offered a dirt cheap promo code that pissed the track off. I'm not sure how that happened exactly but I know the track wound up refunding me almost half the money for my tickets because of it.

I don't think it was the actual date nor do I think it was a crowd problem. Camping was plenty full and there were more people in the stands than the 6 hours had. I think the track was pissed and they're using the date "issue" as a cover.

Guess I'll be going back to Classic.

What if they have similar or worse attendance at Portland? What then, Indycar?

Then they'll drop Portland after two years and go to China. :p

Wow...to me, it still feels like just a couple of years ago.

This is one of the loses that hurt more to me, as a racing fan. The other one, being Greg's.

I know it's been discussed a ton but I'm still 100% nervous about those rear wheelguards being gone.

I still get a kick out of 5.11 being a technical partner for Ganassi.

I'm a little bit nervous about it but hopefully the racers will race a bit more respectfully unlike the last few years with the pods.

I think the rear wheelguards actually created a sense of over-safety in the drivers, which meant drivers became much more agressive in ovals.

There shouldn't be an issue, considering they're not racing anymore in tracks like Chicagoland or Kentucky, which were a recipe for packed racing.

In the shorter tracks, if they manage to lift at places like Phoenix and Iowa, and if they race at Indy in a way they can complete passes by the entry of the corners, there shouldn't be a problem.

The only worry should be Texas...but without the huge draft created by guards, they could spread out more, like they raced with the IR07

Yeah, no doubt they were more about aerodynamics in the end than actually stopping anything but the most minor wheel to wheel contact

Also with them gone they probably won't be flying as much when they do clash wheels, so it's a win win really

If you look at the aerodynamic pod in front of the car, they're not quite gone enough tbh

Conor Daly lost his ride at Foyt, and sounds like Carlos Munoz is gone as well. Matheus Leist rumored to drive 2nd car.
