It kind of makes sense. They definitely knew a yellow was coming, but as far as I know Indycar just said every 30 laps, not on lap # xxx and xxx, etc. So, I sort of see Cindrics point. But Indycar was clear it's a mandatory stop. You have to come no matter what.

wasn't referencing that

was referencing the Chaves penalty. (Rahal's visor cam was clear as day)
