Mexico unlikely in 2016, Gateway looking more possible (possibly the track awaiting board approval next week), Pocono still possible http://sports.usatoday.com/2015/10/07/i ... ent-close/ |

Mexico is not that important until there's a good Mexican driver on the grid IMO. Sergio Perez lil' brother, is he any good? |

Mexico doesn't need a driver, the crowds will come regardless of who's in the race. They got 100k for the CART/Champ Car races. |

Can't remember a Champcar race there without some Mexican presence though. Jordain, Dominquez, *spit* Fernandez, let alone the teams based on Mexican sponsorships. Maybe they'll do the F1 trick and quietly sidle a mexican into a drive in 2016 to build awareness for the 2017 race. I wonder also if there's any alternative layout Indycar can use.... |

Quote: IndyCar's Triple Crown is gone but at least The Tricky Triangle has been salvaged. RACER has learned that Pocono will definitely return for the 2016 Verizon IndyCar series in the form of a 500-mile race sponsored by ABC Supply. Make Texas a 500 miler and keep the tripple crown! Or make a 500 miler at Iowa. The winer is the driver who runs the most miles without vomiting. |

Glad that Pocono is back, don't think the current management cares about promoting the Triple Crown though, they haven't promoted it since 2013 when RB was still in charge of IndyCar. Either way IndyCar is raising in ratings and promotion so they are doing something right. Hopefully Phoenix and Gateway can get confirmed too. |

so there was a rumor started over the last couple days by Robin Miller/RACER Magazine/the Trackside radio show that there could be a possibility of a October race for 2016. only tracks I could think of even being feasible currently would be either Homestead Miami (although there is a Cup Series race the month after), Laguna Seca (if SCRAMP could afford the sanctioning fee/PWC already has a October race scheduled) or Fontana (they didn't rule out IndyCar returning in the future, and October is the perfect date for IndyCar in SoCal) |

The only way Fontana comes back is if it's the season finale and it's a night race. Those are the two conditions laid down (both of which I would happily give them.) My money is on Laguna. Support races all ready in place. Just need to find the loot for the sanction and if Indycar will play ball, that fee might not be all that high. |

Just goes to show you the mentality of INDYCAR, they have a track which produced arguably the best race in recent history wanting another race so long as it's 'the finale and at night' and yet they dither around picking shit out the arses worrying about tv clashing with NFL instead of saying yup, show us the money... All the time while other promoters desert them, you'd think INDYCAR is run by a bunch of monkeys sometimes. |
