can't wait to hear about all of the drivers and owners and crew members and anyone else in a team's pit getting fined over: calling out drivers that aren't using their head at all, complaining about the shitty schedule, shitty purse, or anything that appears negative to Mark Miles.

But yet if something happens we will promote the hell out of it (Carpenter and Karam at Iowa).

some current drivers/former drivers/team personal beginning to respond to the new rules.

inb4 fined.

oh yeah, even if it's not a driver, if they are involved with a team or manufacturer (or maybe even a sponsor) in anyway, they could get fined too. Because that is the way IndyCar defines a competitor

Drivers needs to start drop questions instead of telling their opinions to go around this rule.

"What a stupid rule, Indycar! Shame on you!" - penalty for for breaking the rule 9.3.8

Instead, ask someone else's opinion of it:
"Is this necessary, Indycar? Does anyone find this idiotic?" - grey area, no penalty?

:p

I think they should just poke fun at NASCAR and change it from rule 9.3.8 to 12-4-A, actions detrimental to open wheel racing. :D

I remember that Penske team president Tim Cindric was the first one on TV that was visibly protesting the pack stuff at Fontana. So in b4 president of biggest team in sport is fined. :p

(Luckily this rule doesn't extend to Robin Miller, elsewise he'd be bankrupt before long.)

Miller saying that Phoenix and Richmond are on IndyCar's radar for the 2016 schedule in his latest mailbag on RACER.com on a question about Cleveland (Cleveland more likely for 2017 anyways)
http://www.racer.com/robin-miller-s-mai ... imitstart=

Really hope Richmond happens. Hope we get some news on Road America & Milwaukee soon though. As well as whatever happens to NOLA

the amount of fines would be insane if it extended to the media lol

Phoenix good, (but unspellable :p ) Richmond good, Cleveland better, Road America ESSENTIAL. Get on that first, Indycar.

Jesus christ indycar on the penalties though.
If this thread were included Indycar alone would be 10x more successful than it was in 1995 and we could afford to bribe Hamilton, Alonso, Gordon, Whincup, Jordan, Muller, Earnhardt, Tandy (and fuck it all LMP1 drivers) to defect from their relative series and join Indycar.
AND bring Lola and Reynard out of bankruptcy to design a decent looking and better racing chassis.

AND find as many old CART cars as we could for a veterans race series with Tracey, Vasser, Hand controls for Alex, Any Andretti that feels like it, Unser, Foyt, Mansell and whoever else too.

And have enough change left over to buy out Bernie Ecclestone, Brian France and the Hulman-George's from their series and run them too.

I thought I was just a bitter Champcar fan, turns out by this new rule my constant moaning is keeping the series afloat and I should be given a corporate box, champagne a steak dinner at every race.

From Mid-Ohio they will have LED displays on the rollhoop:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/120074

Quote:
The panels, which have been tested several times this year, display each car's on-track position in real time, and will use different colours to convey different information: red as the default display for running order, green to show time spent in the pits, and a flashing green 'PP' to indicate when a driver is on the push-to-pass.

Yea, plus those are so 80s. Why don't they use LEDs instead?

Pointless. Like F1, answering questions that haven't been asked.

A racer.com poll:

Quote:
What’s the best way for the Verizon IndyCar Series to attract more audience while also restoring its stature and appeal to commercial partners?

Return to the formula that worked during the growth era of CART in the early 1990s: well-known American racers versus international stars in sleek, powerful cars that are the fastest circuit racers on Earth.
Votes: 46.7%

Indy car racing needs a total reboot. Its leaders should give up their on their entertainment mindset along with the Dallara spec-cars and introduce new rules that encourage individuality, creativity and innovation.
Votes: 33.3%

Stay the course. The rising ratings and increased buzz proves that IndyCar's leadership is getting it right and turning things around.
Votes: 15.6%

Let's bring go back the Championship Trail Concept that ended in 1970 with a mix of dirt ovals, paved speedways and road racing that will determine a true American National Champion.
Votes: 4.4%

Return to the original premise of the Indy Racing League in the late 1990s: ovals-only, wheel-to-wheel entertainment-driven competition with lower-cost cars and a focus on attracting American drivers.
Votes: 0% ( )

I like the Championship Trail Concept.

Yes the Trial Concept would be awesome.

As for Cleveland, it is a great circuit with fantastic history. It doesn't need the night race gimic to be popular.

I can see nobody likes open wheel racers running Oldsmobile Aurora engines

the key to success is simple: reduce downforce, just that
