This is a mess... Definitely not covering themselves in glory here.

Usually the drivers are more sensible than this. Especially the fodder in the midfield who know they don't have a chance at this point.

They're going to be even more desperate with one lap to decide it. As much as I want to see a green flag finish, I'd also like to see everyone leaving the speedway under their own power.

Guess they won't make it turn 1 so Ericsson is pretty much fucked now.

Excepted if Ericsson makes a false restart by brake checking all the others... So there is 1 more lap under yellow = he wins

judging by who's in second, I'm pretty sure officials will award him a lap penalty

That would be hilarious.

Kyle Larson: "THREE red Flags? How am I supposed to get to Charlotte in time??"

Maybe he's thinking again about entering next year... :p

THIS!! Ericsson does an O'Ward and get the 1 lap shootout waved off

So, they placed Newgarden back to 2nd?

Post subject:  Re: 107th Indianapolis 500

Okay, looks like Newgarden is 2nd. P3 has been able to get good restarts though.

apparently they threw the caution before the line

Those restarts are nothing but a coin toss. At least the previous restart had a legit race to turn1. This restart order is a fucking joke

The commentator are thinking the same

If I was Ericsson I'd go as soon as possible. Like halfway down the backstretch. Everyone's been going so late that'd probably get him the jump

Anyway, this is a big anticlimax. It's not racing, it's a lottery of who will survive the restart and who won't and take out some innocent victims.

I guess they just want to see the world burn

and then Ferrucci getting away with the checkered

The conspiracy theorists can now swap out their 'Indycar wants Ferrucci to win' book for the 'Penske is rigging it for his team' one. :p

Yeah, Ferrucci still has a decent shot from 3rd. He's not going to back out into turn one.

They're going to be lucky not to kill anyone on this restart.

Imagine if they give them one full yellow lap, then give them only a 500m green run to the checkers.

Backstretch is, well, a stretch, but the middle of 3 would be smart.
