oops. my bad :slaphead:

Virginia Beach is typically my beach vacation of choice. Would be nice to plan a beach vacation around an Indycar race.

I'd love to go to Norfolk for a race. I used to live in Virginia Beach when I was a kid, and I've always considered the Tidewater region home.

Aren't the two newest races on the calendar road courses?

But anyway, I agree with you but let's remember the last two new street races (Sao Paolo and Baltimore I thought would be shit and they) turned out to be fantastic.

No Cleveland? Road America? Michigan?

Not to mention the entire western US (except Long Beach, Fontana, and of course the pitiful races at Sonoma). Too bad they don't race in Denver anymore now that I live here. I always really enjoyed the races here. There's plenty of land for a new permanent road course here too.

There must be something bad beneath the sheats that we do not know for them to avoid such great places like Road America, Laguna Seca, Surfers Paradise and so on....

Cities will pay to host an indycar race and the fans will show up because it's on their doorstep.

Classic road courses probably expect indycar to pay them and because they're in the middle of nowhere no one will show up

Based on this business model I can't see the classic tracks ever returning which is a massive shame :(

I've read that scheduling now is one of the biggest hurdle with Road America... RA is a pretty busy track already, Indycar ends by Labour Day (Wisconsin football anyways would take over), and you probably don't want to even think of scheduling a race at Road America before late April.

If Mazda decided to get into Indycar for whatever reason, probably one of the results is we'd be racing Laguna Seca again. :p

Let's hope that happens. Laguna Seca is a far superior track to Sonoma in every way.

Road America is also a money issue according to Mario Andretti who has been attempting to get a race going for awhile.

Don't get me started on Cleveland.

Isn't Cleveland's problem the car hating Mayor?

Post subject:  Re: 2015 IndyCar season

It's that the mayor is CART Fan.

Or has he been voted out now?

That didn't seem to stop the IRL planning to take over the event during the Champcar era did it, even going to far as to release plans on how they could transfer it to an oval layout.

I'm sure the mayor is just like any other politician, has his personal views and morals that can be bought out for the right price. :whistling:

Pretty sure the Cleveland oval was post ChampCar. The intention was running a dual race weekend, one race on the original course with a second on the oval.
