I hope Justin Wilson is ok.

But I can't deny everybody's faces didn't look well, specially Michael Andretti.

I hope the delay before the Heli took off wasn't due to CPR they had to perform on him. This is terrible, let's hope for good news :(.

So it's serious, not just for precaution. :(

Let's hope Wilson makes a full recovery.

I'm totally on the closed cockpits bandwagon now.

If a little spring can cause the injuries to massa at lower speed... This is far worse.

Depends. A hollow nosecone might actually be lighter than a solid titanium spring. And will absorb something.

I hope they can figure out a safe way to add closed cockpits for single seaters. The NHRA system will not work for circuit & oval racing in my opinion.

Well...I believe this may raise a new debate on closed cockpits....remember this Penske? Not 100% closed but quite safe IMO.

You can't be prepared for everything, this is open wheel racing and it should stay this way.

I'll try my best not to speculate, but I'm hoping for the best for him.

I think the issue there would be how little room that gives the safety workers to get in and work on the driver. That's a really small opening. Perhaps if there were a few quick-release fasteners just inside the cockpit a setup like that could be useful.

I'm not a fan of the closed-cockpit system, but if there's a way to implement them safely while simultaneously let safety workers tend to the wrecked driver in a quick and precise manner, I'm for it.
