Indycar won't be back here next year; there's no one in the stands. 4th of July weekend schedule doesn't help either.

Is it that bad, really?

If they show an overhead shot you'll see how thin the crowd is.

It's not an IndyCar race without RHR having problems...

I noticed the empty seats during the national anthem. The seats towards T1 are normally empty, even for the cup races. But you can clearly see the chequered flag scheme on the seats in the main grandstand area.

Yeah the 2012 Indycar and 2014 Indy 500 Champion just can't catch a break...

It's a long game, remember his comeback in 2012 and Dixon's in 2013? There's still 7 races left after today. I don't feel sorry for RHR. I feel sorry for the likes of Sato or Newgarden, those guys can't catch a break.

Someone tell the broadcast crew that F1 is an open wheel series so this "JPM's first pole in an open wheel series since 2000" doesn't work.

His last Open wheel pole would be the 2005 Belgium Gp.

His last CART/Indycar pole was Surfers Paradise 2000.

As to the crowd, I don't remember there been too many people there last year either sadly.

I was there last year and there was a good sized crowd. Not as big as the 2011 cup race there that I went to, but still good.
