Monaco has special heritage, just as Indianapolis and Le Mans. Sonoma is no more special than Mid-Ohio or Hungaroring. |

If Laguna Seca had been run instead of Sonoma I could understand double points since that track has a lot of history in AOWR and it's a classic track but it's still a dumb idea no matter how you slice it. Sonoma is not a classic track. Mid-Ohio and Hungaroring are above Sonoma, imo. |

It being a track of note or not had nothing to do with it, it was the continually stupid idea that motorsports needs some sort of playoff system or grand final. |
