They should let Indy Pro 2000 and USF 2000 on the IMS oval as well.

Why do you need lights for a 24h race?!?

That would be extremely dangerous (USF2000 did Atlanta in the late 90's - it went horribly)

Those cars, along with Atlantics only belong on short tracks (IRP, Irwindale) and the mile / mile style tracks (Richmond, Iowa, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Loudon, Gateway)

USF2000 was even too small for Iowa in recent years

USF2000 on the IMS oval? It would end up like this.

i'm honestly equally surprised they never did a chicaned layout at Atlanta for F2000, they did that at Charlotte when they supported the IRL races

those cars had some decently run short track races when CARS Tour had them on the Hooters Late Model schedule though - despite how insane it seems that those types of cars ran at places like Hialeah and Flemington

I know Indy Pro 2000 ran Irwindale and Mesa Marin in it's early days, the Russell School cars also ran Mesa Marin I think as well.

those smaller cars in short tracks quite remember CART back when they visited Milwaukee, I kinda like that, they could do some dirt track either with proper adaptation

IMS sent out a press advisory that Tony Kanaan will be making a announcement on Thursday morning.

Michael will be announcing Fred has a ride later this week also, according to AS.com

Probably Tony's last season.

But I see he's not even on the roster yet. :o

I attended my first Indy500 when he won in 2013 and it was a hell of a race. Also he's very funny and seems to be a good person. I like him a lot. I hope he gets a good car for Indy this year, especially since it's likely his last.

Rumor is oval races for Foyt while others run the roads

Always have been a big TK fan so hoping he got enough funding to do alot of races. I do wonder if he plans on racing other stuff after this yr. such as sports cars or stock cars (it was rumored a good bit in 2013, supposedly went to the Gibbs shop)

-

Bourdais confirmed during the 24 to NBC that he will run some IndyCar this yr also

Kanaan is popular no doubt, but it's time he ran Indy only and let a young driver take over the full season

I always rooted for Tony in CART. Loved that 1998 LCI car, the 1999 McDonald's car, and then the Hollywood and Pioneer cars in the early 2000s.

TK will run the five oval races for Foyt, in what looks to be his final season (although he hasn't ruled out future attempts at the 500).

Bourdais and Kellett likely to run the other races.

ABC Supply Co. (Indy), 7-Eleven (Texas?), Big Machine, NTT Data & Bryant are mentioned as sponsors for the effort.

Also doesn't rule out other forms of racing like sports cars

I'll take "Things that should've been said in 2017" for 100 points

I could possibly see 7-Eleven on board for Richmond too, as they have made a big push in our market, replacing A+ convenience stores at all of our local Sunoco stations.
