Yeah, but not fair if they pretend those didn't happen.

Should have red-flagged it straight away.

Ummm...what's the problem? They know the setup they had month ago, all they need to do is a little shakedown.

Sure, the weather and the rubber are the same right?

Anyway, if there ever was a need for a "competition" caution, it's this.

They are professional race teams and drivers, this isn't their first race. I'm surprised they let them practice at all. Hell some guys might not even be bringing back the same cars.

Now come on, some practice is mandatory, you can't just let drivers get used to the handling at 220 mph in traffic at lap one.

If they red flagged it, maybe Newgarden could've become the first driver to win a race he was injured in.

That'd be pretty cool. :)

But yeah ten minutes is kinda pointless. That's what, like 2 or 3 laps if they want to do anything other than run the car. Thirty minutes would've been more reasonable but this is IndyCar after all.

Well, 10 minutes in separated groups. Teams can plan to make the most out of it. I'm sure that no matter what was the practice duration, some team or driver would be bitching about it to whoever was in charge.
