Sato went a long way off and hit pretty heavily for a hairpin. Anyone know if something failed (other than the driver, hurr hurr hurr)?

They should extend that tyre barrier. I am not sure how fast they are before braking in that section, but someone could easily have a mechanical and hit even harder at the same angle. It's still unlikely, but you can count on Sato to discover new ways to bottle it.

The way he locked up repeatedly, it did look like a sticking throttle.
