Dario would be a great commentator/analyst. He's done the Adam Carolla podcast a few times and was always very funny and informative.

A really sad way for one of the greats of American racing to finish his career. Pretty much achieved everything, 4 times champ, 3 times Indianapolis 500 winner, many race wins.

Maybe 2013 was the season too much. He should have retired from Indycar after 2012 with a final indy 500 win under his belt. Then he could have done some other racing, as it looks now he won't be getting into a racecar again and that's sad.

Didn't realise how his crash at Goodwood affected him this much. Don't think even he knew how much that would affect him. I don't think we should remember his career by his whinging during the Ganassi years, but instead over how much he has overcome to achieve all his success. Many big crashes (few of his owns fault), death of close friends and being able to recover his career after ill timed moves (NASCAR, ahem).

What a sad end for a career. But the silver lining is that he survived from all those nasty accident he had in his career, not only Houston, but 2007 he had two major flips, just to name a few. They could have all ended with much more serious consequences.

He's still able to walk and talk, even able to race, but too many big blows is what will end his career in racing. It's not that far off from boxing or hockey in that way. Even Mika Häkkinen mentioned in his memoir that he had to reconsider his racing career after a shunt at Melbourne in 2001. Sid Watkins said that one more big blow to his head might be the last. Serious untreatable neurological injury might occur.

Carpenter will only run the ovals next year, Conway will run the road/street courses.

Bout time, been saying thats the best thing for the team since Conway decided to stop running ovals.

Marshall Pruett says Hornish turned down a solid offer from Ganassi to go IndyCar. The offer could be heading to a former F1 guy..

Haha Hornish to Ganassi and Montoya to Penske, that would have been something.

Well seeing as that is as obvious as the joke I made, I now feel rather embarrassed for completely missing it.
