Yeah, but I think that more reflects a narrowing of the field. The majority of Indycar today is the "powerhouse" teams that jumped from ChampCar in 2003-2004 (Andretti, Rahal Letterman, Ganassi, Penske).

I think Sam Schmidt and Foyt are the only full time teams from the original IRL era.

And Foyt jumped to the IRL after the 1995 CART season ended...so Schmidt is the only original team from the IRL. Foyt sure was good in 1998 and 1999 though.
