Remember, while fans loved the Hanford-era, many of the drivers hated it. Zanardi one of them. While this may be racy-est formula since, I have a feeling that the drivers like this more.

This race reminds me of the 2002 (I think da matta won) champcar race here. That race made me an oval racing fan with it's close racing.

Edit: was the 2001 race

2001 I think you mean. I remember the 2002 as extremely disappointing (when Vasser won easily). The 2001 race was the last tast Hanford race (though the cars were much slower than 2000 spec).

The end of the 2001 race was shaping up to be awesome (Da Matta v Papis I think) but it was ruined by a late race caution and it finished under yellow iirc
