That's a shame. It's a great track.

I still haven't recovered from that news, that's just tragic. The event was superb.....really. It was a HUGE sacrifice to bring IndyCar to Brazil......really huge. We never thought we could do it and we did! People sometimes doesn't have idea how hard it was. Since 2001 Band Network tried to negotiate a race here....when we finally got it, it didn't last more than 4 years.

That's so frustrating. I'm holding SP Indy 300 on my memory forever!

I liked that race. Always provided and one of the better street layouts. Best race of 2013 so far.

Before it's inaugural race I thought the track layout looked stupid and the racing would be terrible. I was happy to be wrong. It quickly became a favourite.

Will Power really blew it this year. If he had performed as well this year as he did last year, he'd have the championship no problem. Helio hasn't been THAT fast, Ryan and Scott haven't had the best luck, and all the others are too inconsistent.

Poor Will. :p

Yeah, those early season struggles bit him in the ass hard. NOW he starts to win/perform well (Baltimore notwithstanding...probably would have gotten a podium had he used his mirrors and not piss off Scott Dixon), but too little too late. Good on him, tho...every bit of momentum carrying over to St. Petersburg helps.

I can understand his anger on some of those calls. But rather than focus on the last two races perhaps he should look back to the early portion of the season as the main reason he's likely out of the title hunt now.

Dixon needs to shut up. Yes, some of the calls suck, but he can't blame Barfield forever.

Dixon should pay more attention to where he points his car.

I think he's just bitter because he's not getting the same calls Dario used to get from race control.

+10. Dixon need to STFU and keep his head under control. He never needed to go so aggressive in Baltimore even.

tbh, Castroneves also had massive bad luck at Baltimore. IIRC, he did set the fastest lap of the race.

It's kinda cool to see Dixon losing his, well... coolness.

So much for "Iceman"

Interesting that Autosport are reporting as if these are new comments he's made, he said them directly after he'd been taken out 8O

Whereas this is the latest he's said (obviously had a PR person put their spin on it)

Quote:
"Reflecting on it, I shouldn't have been so outspoken and I probably will be fined for it and I respect that," Dixon said.

"It was just frustration of a two-week period. For me, I love the sport, I want to see it better and what I did didn't help. My concern is not making things look bad for the series. I love my job and don't want to be doing anything else, and I don't want it to be perceived otherwise. I want to learn from the mistakes we've made."

I posted this in the Random NASCAR Discussion Thread but I figured I'd post it here as well....

Quote:
Tony Kanaan to Nationwide? Tony Kanaan is the 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner, past champion and a fan favorite on the IZOD IndyCar circuit. He's searching for sponsorship to try and stay with the series he's been with for a decade and loves. But what if another team from another discipline offered him a paying ride where all he had to bring was his helmet, talent and personality? RACER has learned that Joe Gibbs Racing has made the popular Brazilian an offer to run Nationwide in 2014, with a chance to move to Sprint Cup for one of NASCAR's best operations. Kanaan was reportedly on his way to Brazil and couldn't be reached for comment and J.D. Gibbs didn't return a phone call, but a source close to the Gibbs' team revealed that T.K. had spent most of Tuesday at the Gibbs' shop in Charlotte. Kanaan has talked with Chip Ganassi about his fourth seat, Michael Andretti if free agent James Hinchcliffe departs, Bryan Herta's second car and continues to be a candidate to stay at KV Racing, where he's been the past three seasons. But, in a story on RACER.com three weeks ago, Kanaan was understandably miffed that every team he's talked to about a job needs him to bring money.(Racer)(9-6-2013)

You know, this is where Indycar needs to grow a set and just pay one of these asshole owners to put the defending Indy 500 winner in a car.

Dangerous precedent. If you do that then the other arsehole owners will kick up a fuss as they love to do, saying they have indy 500 winners too why shouldn't they get money to run them, etc.

The last thing you wanna do is give these jerks any opportunity to kick off
