The length of the IndyCar cautions is ridiculous, but also understandable. They send out a sweeper to clean up some of the marbles, which makes the racing better since you don't automatically crash if you run a little high on the restart. But the consistency definitely needs work...
That was a pretty dull race. It had enough moments to make it worth watching, but man. This aero package needs to be sorted out. They have way too much downforce and produce way too much dirty air. When you can't lap the slowest car on the track...
The biggest issue was the fact that if you got a run on somebody coming off the turn and tried to dive to the bottom, you couldn't do anything with it to actually complete the pass. The speed difference between the end of the straightaway and the middle of the turn was so low that there wasn't any opportunity for the passing driver to drive it down deeper into the corner to complete the pass. Also, the amount of blocking and chopping (by the entire field, not just one or two drivers) was downright pathetic. I want drivers to be able to defend their position, but you gotta draw a line in the sand somewhere.
