Yeah, december probably have a lot of busy end of year dates but January... Unless the drivers and mechanich asked for end of the year vacations just to syncronize with the rest of the motorsport worlds.

I think that the series needs some time to settle...

Also, perhaps they're realising that they could quickly grow into a proper championship and manage to compete with regular motorsports in the summer season, so they don't want to go too deep in a winter organisation format for the host cities.

Damn, the summer is now for the south hemisphere, why not keep up with this? Anyway, that Punta del Este got canceled, that might help the lack of races on this perioud....

Yes, real racers want to race. Not crash into walls for money. He still should never have been allowed back from that.

Besides, di Grassi has a point. Formula E now has a bigger calendar that spreads into the European spring and summer. It requires more commitment for longer in the year from the drivers. More races will be added and those drivers who are trying to do both WEC and FE will have to make a choice either next year or the year after.

Di Grassi is in the somewhat fortunate position of having had this decision made for him, and is reflecting on his fortune.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Is there any past history between the two, or is Nelsinho just being a bitter, jealous, Piquet-wannabe piece of shit? He should maybe understand that prior to being snarky, his father had earned that right to by being 3-time F1 champion and one of the best drivers of his generation

Good question, which has recently been answered on Atlas;

highdownforce wrote:
Both Brazilians are old rivals having banged wheels on F-Renault, F3 and GP2 before.

During the F3 period (2002, IIRC) Piquet was accused of illegal testing, however no punishment ever came from this.

In 2006 Lucas Di Grassi as a Renault Development Driver was the "next in line" to join Kovalainen at F1, but instead Enstone signed the GP2 runner-up Nelson Ângelo Piquet. Both drivers saw it as an opportunity to show themselves. However Spygate happened, Alonso partnered Piquet and the rest of that is history.

Di Grassi was kept as a Renault protege and there were sounds about him replacing Piquet, but the Renault team privilleged Romain Grosjean.

However already in 2008 Di Grassi had tested for a Honda seat together with Bruno Senna in an audition to replace Barrichelo. On the occasion Piquet said that Bruno was a much better driver than Lucas.

Crashgate was made public and many drivers slammed NAP doings, Massa the most vocal about it.

Di Grassi raced for Virgin, became an Audi LMP1 driver and both joined F-E for its inaugural season.

Piquet accused Di Grassi of blocking him in Monaco qualify, but Lucas said that nothing that happened on track could have harmed his fellow Brazilian lap time. Both agreed to disagree. Then Berlin happened and Lucas' ABT car was disqualified from the race after winning it, what provoked Piquet to accusing Di Grassi of cheating. The obvious response from Lucas was to remember crashgate, and the heat of their rivalry was greater than ever as both were challenging for the title.

Since then NAP has being quiet as his team has massively under performed.

Well, until now...

Man, I hate this big gap in the season. Can't even recall what happened so far in the 2(?) races we had. They should be racing most of their events in December, January and Februari. I need my racing fix in these months.

They're following the IndyCar method - Get momentum with good racing and battles, then have a long break

And I just applied to volunteer at the Montréal ePrix :) My chances are good to be on the false grid like at the GP3R, since it seems that the ePrix is being organized by the GP3R team :)

Too bad I wasn't thinking that race at all when visiting Montreal recently. Made a short trip to F1 circuit though.

To paraphrase one of my favourite TV shows ever (Black Mirror):

“I didn't expect to find myself living in the future, but here I fucking well am”.

Techeetah upgrades from a slow driver who eventually crashes to a medium driver who eventually crashes.
