There is a support class this weekend.

e-Touring Car Challenge with the e-Golf. Qualifying is about to start with the race starting 1h30 later (17:40 local time). Will try to find a stream but it's shown live on the feed.

Here's a promo video:

There was a stream on this Youtube channel 4h ago. Keep checking it:

Semi formula e related news. Audi is dropping their Le Mans program at the end of this year to focus on their Formula E effort.

Before the Marrakesh e-prix there was a few demo laps from the Roborace driverless car, they ran this Terminator-looking prototype:

Image

It did one setup lap with a driver in, then a few laps on its own at increasing speeds.

It kept following the same line through the corners, a very conservative line at that - no curb stomping and veeery slow at the tightest corners. Nothing crazy for now.

I could talk to someone from the developing team, and apparently it was a mix between a pre-programmed racing line and the sensors adjusting to changes or unscripted events. He was evasive on how close to loss of traction they can currently run them though

So, still VERY far from a human driver. And frankly, while futuristic and a cool experiment to witness, not what we expect from racing to be.

I... I can't make sense of this one. One for each type would be as equal as this could possibly be :?

I didn't read it necessarily as "AND" and the tracks wouldn't exist at the same time in the same place anyway.

To get more on-topic: really stupid to not have any races in December/January. When the schedule is like this the only remainong benefit of the "winter series" now seems to be that the championship climax is in the summer instead of at the end of year with many other series.

Were there any proposed races for this time of the year that never made it to the calendar?

Ah fair enough - I got what you were getting at, but not when the context was added.

Also: good point about the gap. Seems like they have left a gap that could have been filled perfectly by a round or two in the southern hemisphere. Clearly they looked to IndyCar for scheduling tips :slaphead:
