The 2022-23 Formula E World Championship begins this weekend at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City.

There is one significant change to the layout - the original chicane before the stadium section returns. This is presumably driven by safety concerns regarding electrical (and therefore brake) failure, as it will mean the cars arrive at the entry to the stadium at a much slower speed.

Schedule (all times CST/UTC-06:00)

13th January
FP1 16:30-17:00

14th January
FP2 07:30-08:00

Race 14:00-15:00

Really looking forward to see the speed of the new cars and how good the racing is going to be. Always like new things, at least for 1 season.

Are the new cars really smaller than the old one? There's the tiny feeling of Aussie Racing Cars about them watching them out on track, they look small.

Yes. The cars are 70mm narrower, about an inch less tall, and 145mm shorter (130mm of which is from the wheelbase).

Channel 4 will again be streaming all sessions, so if you can find a British IP on your VPN, you can see them all linked here; https://www.youtube.com/@Channel4Sport.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

They look visibly faster (considering the power increase they sure should be).

Of course, F1 starts in a couple of months if you need your fix of bus racing.

at least this one is on a proper road course (albeit with some mickey mouse sectors) but Formula E always delivers some good controversies and questionable driving standarts

That's 2 electrical (and brake) failures for Jaguar so far.

That'll be some old-school, 1980s gaps between the pole and 2nd place with all the mistakes we saw there

Loving the new car though, the extra speed actually makes the Peraltada a huge challenge again as it's almost flat out but not quite

OK it's not the corner it was, and it never will be again sadly, but this is probably as close as we can get in thi era.
