I find it very strange that they're ending their season on a Thursday. Surely 8th/9th, 12th/13th, 15th/16th would have made more sense

No other racing going on could be the motive. I find it strange that so few series now do race on weekdays. Should be an easy way to get a bit more attention than they'd normally get on a MotoGP/F1 weekend.

Are there many examples of non-US series running on weekdays? Genuine question, I'm not the most knowledgeable motorsport historian.

All I can think of is those Qatar WTCC races they ran on a Friday.

I meant now, since visiting spectators are not a concern.

FIM CEV (aka Spanish Moto2/3 Championship) had race days on Tuesday in Estoril and on the following Monday in Portimao. Other than that I don't remember any others on this continent doing it now.

Noise limitations of race circuits might be one thing blocking this.

Ah fair enough, I misunderstood. Tbh I hadn't thought about it before now but you're right, I guess it's a better time than any to experiment with dates. Still not sure about having your season finale on a weekday though. Seems less prestigious somehow.

one advantage of this track is that you can run multiple races and rearrange it like a lego set

had to dig for it, but here's the US TV schedule (FOX's press site only goes to Friday, and they just re-did their website & removed their live stream + schedule functions for anything that isn't a "major sport")

08/05/2020: FS2 / 1:00PM Eastern
08/06/2020: FS2 / 1:00PM Eastern
08/08/2020: FOX / 12:30PM Eastern
08/09/2020: FS1 / 1:00PM Eastern
08/12/2020: FS2 / 1:00PM Eastern
08/13/2020: FS2 / 1:00PM Eastern

some of the races should be streamed here as well if your in the USA:
