Good race, no late drama this time though

Great to see Mitch Evans and Jaguar win though, a feel good story.

This was a good tense finish rather than a batshit one - I like the way they show the remaining power in the final few minutes so you can bet on who might run out.

As an aside, the amount of dedicated haters on Facebook is just comical now. All they have left is 'lol the cars are quiet and not as fast as F1' on account of the genuinely good action :slaphead:

Oh sometimes action can be TOO GOOD, IE an open wheel series turning up to a tight street tracks and putting on great race after great race is apparently not seen as a minor miracle (as it would be if F1 did it) but some kind of scrappy street fight that proves how low the standards of car, driver and the series as a whole, is.

Fuck em, they're the ones missing out, if they want to psyche themselves out because the cars don't go broom broom or burn enough natural resources to get them off, that's their bag
It's fun enough for the rest of us ;)

Yeah, if people who say that love motorsport still think this series is a joke, the joke's on them.

The hating wouldn't exist if the series wasn't.... hold it.... making so much noise.

6 winners in 6 races, top 4 still 4 points apart, when the winner gets 25 points is amazing. Top 9 within 12 points!!!

Just finally cached-up to the series, watched in sequence rounds 3, 5, 6 and 7 just now. The series is always delivering a great battle for the win and a great battle for the championship. The cars now look fast, and still fun to watch. But the increase of speed seems to make the racing better, not so easy to overtake, but not impossible either, just right. Let's hope it stills like this for years to come. Also, streets circuits as street circuits should be. How many DNFs because people make mistakes and actually pays for it. Not like the F1 babies with 2 miles of tarmac run-offs.

And with such great novel names - Paris, Rome, Hong Kong, Berlin.... yeah, the series still is going to bother F1, but for the better. But F1 already have Liberty looking after better racing and closer competition, this will just make them more serious about it... finally!

Edit: Also, yeah, there are penalties, but most if not all of them are sensible, and just a product of the insanely high level of competitiveness that we are getting right now. Just imagine how many penalties the F1 stewards would have given during that very rigorous time..... Or the amount of bitching headlines the drivers and team principals would give. Yeah, the joke's on them, the joke's on them.

Also, the last lap itself wasn't dramatic. But we almost had a huge problem if all of them had to make another lap!!! And with this in mind, Evans having to "slow-down" while Lotterer was trying to overtake with all means, trying to avenge the way he lost the lead to Evans previously. Yeah, great finish still.
