Great race again, the attack zone makes the races much more exciting than the 1 pitstop they used to have. Now finally there is some tactic involved in the races. It used to be go 1 lap longer than the rest, that's all you could do strategy wise in a race. The races feel very motogp to me now, around the same length, lots of passing and unpredictable till the end. And they look really fast, people complaining it's slow need to get their eyes checked. And the fan boost doesn't really add anything anymore, maybe they should ditch it and give the winners the benefit of activating attack mode without going through the special zone. Just to make it a little bit less complicated for new viewers. Good the attack zone was clearly marked now, the first good use of these virtual graphics in a race ever.

Just watched the race, that was pretty good. Always have liked this track for Formula E.

I don't know, but I kind of expected the cars to look still a bit more "visibly" faster. Maybe the difference would be more obvious if I looked at some old race now...

Was this Marrakesh circuit significantly modified or not? I read so somewhere. Pole was 3 secs faster than in 2018. If that's the difference then I'm not sure that's really even enough for eyes to see in practice.

2018: Buemi 1:20.355
2019: Bird 1:17.851

Another thing is that how much the pace varies during the race.

The circuit was identical. The cars certainly are faster and they look it standing still too, which always helps. A 3 second gain around a track like this is a lot.

I have to say I was noticing the speed difference on the on boards, particularly on cars that were doing their full burn, attack laps vs those that weren't.

I also must say that the TV direction was so much better this race. The director was so much better at picking up the action and picking the cars that were on their attack laps vs those that weren't

They'd be even faster with slick tyres

They look visibly faster, no question. Been to the race two seasons ago (which was the Gen2 car) and even on TV they look like flying. Can't wait to have a peek in Paris for a direct eye comparison.

Slicks should definitely be the next step I hope for this series. It's not expensive, just one additional set per race, in the morning they could make a decision for which tyre to use the whole day depending on weather, any chance of rain or humidity put the regular tyres on, if it's going to be bone dry all day go ahead and put the slicks on.

Maybe they just haven't come to it because higher speeds through corners/straights, harder accelerations, and shorter braking zones will consume more battery and charge less per lap.

I'd rather not see them use slicks. I like seeing them struggle for grip on the all-weather tyres.
