Chicane is worth 2-3 seconds. It's a quick right left.

I assume they did that so people wouldn't compare them to other series. Slower than a Formula Ford, LMAO.

I assume the slowness is down to the cars being brand new and being at the start of their development cycle, the teams getting used to working with new technology and concepts before pushing 100%? Similar to what we saw at the first F1 tests I'm 2014.

Here are the day 2 times.

Day 2 times are without the tyre chicane. I must say it's a good grid they've got for their first season.

Reminds me of the 70s when the milk floats would race away from the traffic lights at 3am

If you watch that video while knocking a couple of milk bottles together, it makes the 70's experience all the more real Ian.

Anyway. Wait until they program the sound effects, the cars will sound awesome!!!

Thanks NASCAR and F1 for triggering the gimmick era in motorsport

Imo, they should allow drivers to throw turtle shells into their rivals

Oh sure, because non-polluting vehicles are gimmicks now.

He means the soundtrack they've decided should accompany the races, not what they're powered by.

As I'd said only in the last couple of days.

It's a double edged sword. Fans will bitch because of the whining of the electric power units, they'll also bitch about the artificial sound effects. So the latter is the way to go because noise helps create atmosphere and is part of the pleasure.

Let's cut Formula E some slack until we've actually seen them in competition. Laughing and bitching about 20 seconds of amateur footage when they're merely testing things at a very early stage is pathetic.

The electric series that raced at Pau didn't need a soundtrack and you can hear the whine of the engines of the Formula E cars.
