The best thing about this series for manufactures is they involve themselves in the series and have to bring almost next to nothing to the table besides the badge and the cash.

That must feel so weird to accelerate that quickly and barely hear a thing.

Virgin now entered a team. I don't understand why they don't invent some kind of plug and play battery pack tho, then no need for car swaps. It'd need some thought tho, as I guess the batteries are down low for weight distribution.

Exactly what I was thinking.
And that's something that could be extended to the real world. Imagine you going to a gas station, not to get fuel but to change batteries.

But it's probably much easier in my head than in real life...

I would have preferred a 'real' series, in a sense that car manufacturers enters this series, but all with their own way of producing the energy needed.

Off course there should be certain rules etc etc.

But it would be much more interesting if you would have Citroën vs. Opel vs. Toyota etc with their own technology.

And I am sure that then it would get much more media attention and people would be much more interested, involved.

Not a particularly economical calendar then... they put all the rounds together geographically then put them all a month apart. Seems sensible.

I love how they placed Miami to where Mississippi/Alabama is.

Yeah, nitpick, I know...

All of this money and interest in a series that is likely to fail miserably
(think Champ Car 2007 with more sponsorship and expensive life sized RC cars)....

I just realized that the Indycar finale is on August 30th and the inaugural race of Formula E race is on September 14th, I bet that means some IndyCar drivers will be competing in this series? Does anyone know if this scheduling was done on purpose?

Hmmmm wouldn't be so sure about that, Indycar is meant to be having off season races as well.

August 30th is very, very early for such a big racing series to end. We don't know about drivers yet, but given that at least 2 Indycar teams are involved in Formula E, this might be the case. They'll never tell us for sure, but I don't recall an Indycar season ending that early, so it definitely sounds "suspicious".
