We might have seen the last from Fredrik Ekblom, one of Sweden's all time greatest drivers.

A bit under the radar internationally for most of his career, he drove a few races in Indycar in the mid 90's, had a full-time contract with AJ Foyt for 1996 but was cancelled when Foyt committed to IRL and Ekblom didn't have enough oval experience. He did race with Walker Racing in the infamous 1996 US 500, but blew up soon after the race restarted, so never had the chance of making his mark over there. But 5 pole positions in 10 races with the might BMW M3 GTR in ALMS GT in 2001 was a real feat, and so was his stints in ETCC, WTCC and in sports car racing.

Not a lot of good news coming out of Sweden at the moment. Ekblom possibly retiring, KMS & WestCoast leaving and a couple of promising young drivers in Morin & Nerman leaving too. At least we know that Dahlgren, PWR & Brink Motorsport are staying.

It is of course disheartening when 6 competitive cars leaves the series, but it's not a full-blown crisis, it is not like during the Solution F era, when there weren't a single car confirmed a month before the season started!

Season starting to take shape. 10 cars currently entered: 3 Brink Audis, 3 PWR Cupras, 2 Kågered Golfs, Andersson's Honda and Wärnelöv's Golf as of now. Won't be the same grid numbers as the last couple of years, but at least as many as during the TTA era.

It's Dahlgren in the Golf vs. Tobias Brink in the Audi for the championship. Brink is on pole.

Next years' schedule released: no more Anderstorp as DTM takes over that date, but a new street race in Copenhagen. A new promoter has been found, a 70 000 euro price fund is up for grabs, a new TV production deal and a new junior class; they are hoping for 24 cars next year.

Mattias Andersson steals the win from championship contender Brink in the last corner of the last lap of heat 1! Brink simply failed at driving defensively, being way too conservative in his defense there. He still takes some points of Dahlgren's lead, but it's a long-shot now.

Dahlgren is champion! Hired gun Haglöf shoved off Brink halfway through the race. Wernersson wins the race, so at least Brink's Audi team wins the teams' championship.
