2015 Ford Falcon FG-X:
Spoiler:

AutoAction released this about the upcoming Gen2 regulation updates to the Car of the Future today.
http://autoaction.com.au/feature-v8-sup ... n-engines/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Some tidbits from the article above include that 2, 4 and 5 door cars would be allowed as long as the engine is in the front, the driver is on the right, it fits the CoTF chassis, it's sold in Australia and there is a back seat. Engines will for sure go from Turbo V4's and V6's to the current V8 package, and even possibly a V10 or V12. Hybrids might also be allowed but there will be no alternative fuels as United E85 spec fuel will be around for a while.

How they're going to achieve parity on the engine side is beyond me, they struggle as it is now.

Hopefully they way they used to, with engine capacity and weight factors.

Surprised the round at Albert Park isn't a championship round, due to the fact for the first time in, well I think since the last Adelaide F1 race, the broadcaster covers both series.

Unless its due to Foxtel not having the F1 rights...which I wouldn't know if they do or not.

Channel 10 had the V8SC and F1 rights at the same time from 2003-2006. Prior to that the V8/ATCC telecaster and the F1 telecaster had never been the same.

Foxtel doesn't have the 2015 F1 rights, but is apprarently in negotiations for 2016 in a partnership with Channel 10.

I thought they weren't able to have it pay points because it's paired with F1.

IIRC, national series on the card with F1 aren't allowed to stage points races.

That hasn't been an issue with other Australian championships at the AGP in years gone by, alot of Australian championships have held points rounds, nor with various other championships around the world. This reason has never come up as a barrier for the event counting for the ATCC/V8SCS as far as i have heard.

V8Supercars afterall held points paying races as a support race for the 2012 Abu Dhabi GP.

Also a note to those in Europe and even possibly in the Americas (if we have it by then/if they get rights to show in regions/countries), Motors TV is trying to fit in some live coverage of the Sydney SuperTest, which is on the same day as the 12 Hours of Bathurst on 2/8 and will have live coverage of Adelaide.

On most NZ/Aus based motorsports websites, the 12 hours is getting all the attention I find, and rightly so!, everyone outside of V8 Supercar management know it's complete BS what they are pulling

Don't forget the 12 hour will be live and in full on the 7 nentwork. (7 mate I think, although I could be wrong)
