Looked like Turkington forced Shedden off, I'm assuming that'll stand

It should stand. It stood in 2006 when Turkington passed Gio at the last corner so same should and will apply here

Menu finished 9th!

Should stand.

Can't rule either Team Dynamics driver out of this championship. Or Turk for that matter.

Well, worth bearing in mind that Jordan would be leading this by a few more points if he hadn't been punted off quite cynically on the first lap by Plato. But that was an impressive drive from Shedden

It's touring car racing so anything can happen, but I get the feeling that the MG is the best car, and Jordan is one of the best drivers with a team solely focusing on him. Shedden's the wildcard, depending on how the Hondas go at the varying circuits. I don't think the BMW is quite there yet, and Neal doesn't seem to be the force he was a few years ago

FIA F1: "Both drivers were off the track. We'll analyse this post race from every possible angle for 3 hours, then probably let the teams protest and analyse it again a few weeks later to finally determine the winner."

MSA BTCC: Yeah, they were both off track. Fuck it, that was fun, Shedden wins!

A scrappy day of racing, too many crashes for my liking. BTCC isn't as good in the wet as it is in the dry.

@BTCCcrazy on twitter seems to think the stewards are still deliberating over the race 3 final corner, but surely they've buggered off home by now? :?

Yeah they've JUST declared the result. Protests may still be lodged at a later date though.

The appeal has now been lodged by Ebay Motors.

Good luck with that...

LOL I can imagine how that will go,
Ebay: Flash cut the corner, he had 4 wheels off the racing surface.
Dynamics: So did you...
MSA: Your both DQ'd then

Who finished third? following the MSA rules exactly says the win should be awarded to them.

Sometimes you've just got to accept your attempt to shunt someone out the way failed and they managed to get to the line before you as a result and be done with it, dragging things like this out benefits nobody.

Neal did.

Dynamics could say Sheds was forced off and Turk went off willingly. Boom, 1-2.

My point exactly, either way it's win-win for Dynamics and loose-loose for Ebay, if Sheds get's DQ'd then so should Turks.

Or better still, just accept it was an exciting finish and move on to Thruxton.

Initially I thought that Shedden had cut the corner to take the win but now I think it should stand. It's one thing if Turkington squeezed him wide and made the corner himself. That didn't seem to be the case though. He missed the corner and pushed them both off. You could also argue that Shedden never would have made the corner anyway, so it's a difficult one to call.

Agreed, Turkington quiet clearly drove into Shedden's door in the braking area to try and destabilise Shed's braking ability, it clearly worked, but took himself off at the same time, we'll never know if Shed's would have made the corner without the contact, and punishing them would set a very dangerous president you don't want the drivers using in the future, so being kind it's six of one and half a dozen of the other, leave it be, the MSA doesn't need to regulate every single overtake, the two of them will have forgotten about it in the morning (well maybe not Turkington, but if he's still thinking about it come Thruxton, he's in the wrong profession).
