So Plato spends most of 2011 bitching about the turbo engines and most of 2014 bitching about the BMWs and neither he nor his team are punished in any way, whilst Neal makes one equally inflammatory comment and the team gets their wrist slapped.

Not cool.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Yeah not a great response from Gow, behavior you might expect from a dictator, especially with the double standards with Plato.

Yeaa, I don't see the difference other then one is Plato and one isn't.
Quote:
Additionally, TOCA have deemed that Team Dynamics are in breach of Clause 7 of the TOCA BTCC License (‘TBL’) by bringing the Championship, the TOCA officials and the organisation into disrepute. Accordingly both TBLs held by Team Dynamics are revoked.

And that would be really over the top.

Typical "Democratic Dictator" stance from Gow, you have the freedom of choice to say what you want, as long as Gow like it, if he doesn't, it's off to the gallows for you.

Never liked him (Gow), not a particular Neil fan either, but Gow is a little shit through and through.

While I agree with the general consensus I think the difference between Plato's and Neal's comments are that Plato is talking about the current rules structure (like he has done for around 4 years now, playing the villain) and trying to point out flaws between FWD and RWD platforms whereas Neal / Dynamics is stirring up shit between TOCA and one of the main manufacturers in the past 10 years of BTCC. While TOCA is probably trying to keep Honda from withdrawing, Neal's comments are not well timed or appropriate.

That's pretty much it, kals.

As I posted on TenTenths:

As far as I can remember, Plato's rants have always been "this, that & the other need to be changed", and "we're not on a level playing field", etc. He hasn't said anything along the lines of, "they want us out of the championship". Neal did and that's where the difference lies.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

You're probably right, not the first time Matt Neil has put foot in mouth iirc?

I'm fairly sure Plato made similar comments going up against the turbo's while in his NA Daewoo.

Neal really doesn't bring anything to the championship anymore. Losing him isn't a big thing. Let him concentrate on running Dynamics with his father, keep them building championship contending machinery. Neal's not lost it but he's no longer as competitive as he used to be. Like Rouse in 1994.

Plato is just Plato. He's created a caricature of himself which he lives up to and which helps feed the championship's popularity.

Tbh panto villian publicity aside I don't think plato offers much any more either (surprise surprise ;))

I'd much rather the championship started promoting its stars of today and tomorrow than hanging on to the remnants of the past.

Hadn't realised the penalty was suspended until the end of 2015, not 2014. Thats a ridiculous period to leave the penalty hanging over the team.

Rotek will not have a new driver at Brands, but a new sponsor too:
