Glad BTCC still uses Knockhill. It is a great track.

That's a shame, although I wonder why they couldn't find somebody else to fill the seat.

Hoping we don't get too many that can't be bothered to travel to Scotland. I've never really understood it anyway. It's Knockhill. Hardly Thurso or Stornoway.

That picture in the OP must be a frickin' amazing place to watch from. You might see the entire track from there, less perhaps the bits around Duffus dip where it drops down...(hence the name...duhhh :P )

Anyway, due to F1InPubs duties I'll be lucky if I see anything live. Maybe race 3 if I'm lucky.

Again I'll rant against the scheduling.

DON'T race when F1 is on, it can't be that hard....can it?

That's from the top of the Knockhill itself (the one in the pictures with all the transmission masts.) It's private ground (hence all the sheep) so if you did try to watch from there you'd probably get shot by a disgruntled farmer.

Fair enough if Smith has business commitments but there's no excuse for a top team like that to not run someone out in the second car. Hoping the usual "But it's sooooooo faaaaaar..." nonsense doesn't claim too many entries this weekend.

James Kaye did his knee in and will miss the race, Amd won't be replacing him.

And Rob Austins other leg was eaten by free willy, so he won't be participating either. Etc etc... Sounds like a lot of bs excuses not to travel up tbh.
How far is Knockhill from Croft btw?

Bit more on this. As it turns out, AMD are just renting the car from Dynamics and part of the agreement is that Kaye races it and no one else. Strange, but that seems the jist of it.

I wish! In Birmingham we get around 50 people per race (depending on timezones...more for Brazil, Canada etc, strangely more still for Aus...)
but any time we've done anything else (Indy500, switching the BTCC before/after meetings, Bathurst etc), no-one seems bothered. Damn casuals :p

Hope it rains so much they have to race on Monday! :p

170 miles, depending on route.

There isn't really any excuse for it. I drove from Suffolk to the Outer Hebrides in a day, earlier this month. Where's the love for Scotland? :(

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Pfft child's play, that! I drove from Cardiff to Darlington last week, 288 miles each way and it only took 4.5 hours to complete. Can't see how Knockhill is a problem really...
