Is there any particular reason why the old MGs looks like BMWs?

Doesn't look like a BMW to me.

I suppose the grille and lights are faintly similar to Beemers of the time.

Weren't MG owned by BMW at the time that model was released? Perhaps some styling or even design characteristics were carried over from the 3-series?

You miss Atomic Kitten Paul?

Didn't think you were their key demographic, but ok then.

Question - what was the best thing Atomic Kitten produced?

Answer - Colin Turkington's introduction to the BTCC

Three decent looking girls prancing around a race track with little on. Hard to tell the difference between them and the dolly birds on the grid.

It was an inventive way to mask we had 2 manufacturers providing the majority of the field back then anyway.

Team Atomic Kitten and Team Egg Sport, it's only looking back you realise how shit the early 00's were for the BTCC...

(would've been more interesting if Paul O'Neill had been racing for TAK tbh, considering who his sister is :p )

2002 wasn't that bad. No, it wasn't the biggest entry as far as the main class was concerned, but there were a ton of top class drivers in the series. You had Muller, Thompson, Neal, Harvey, Reid, Priaulx, Leslie, Hughes and then young up-and-comers like Turkington, Howell, Eaves & O'Neill, hardly what I'd call shit. The field was of a much higher quality then than it is now. The only drawbacks were that Vic Lee & John Batchelor were involved.

I wouldn't call TAK the worst idea ever. Remember the Kim Kardashian car in NASCAR a few years ago?

2002 wasn't great in terms of grid numbers but it had strength in talent depth. The title battle was pretty intense and it produced some great racing. Plus we got to see Thompson finally getting his first BTCC title. Plus we got to see Muller lose out at the death again.

Wasn't 2002 a time when Muller was fairly well liked, because we had drivers like Plato, Reid and Neal being assholes?

Plato wasn't around in 2002 and in fact there wasn't really any hostility in the series that year compared to 2001 or the years where Neal and Reid spent a lot of time trying to knock each other's block off. Muller was liked but still a pretty a whingy villain. Then there was Brands Hatch late in the season where he took Thompson off after complaining about driving standards.

Oh yeah, Jason was off driving into things in circles instead that year wasn't he. But either way, Muller wasn't the bad guy he was now. The biggest bad guy in 2002 was the fact the cars looked fucking retarded. The stupid Peugeot Coupe, the nasty looking Astra with an even nastier egg:sport livery (what a retarded team name that was too). The silly green MG. The even sillier Atomic Kitten abomination. The hilarious Proton. The silly ultra short Civic, which was a box on wheels. And that 306, which was taped together in a shed.

Yeah, 2002 was by far the ugliest season of BTCC.

I've always liked how colourful 2002 was.

Plus in 2002 you had Aaron Slight in a Barwell Astra.
