It was rough and tumble classic touring car racing, and while both Jordan's and Smith's moves were hard, it was racing. Nothing more, nothing less. Smith did bulldoze Austin out of the way however Austin's defense of his lead a couple of laps earlier was pretty close to the line as well. I didn't like how Smith took the lead, but it was fairs fair.

I didn't see anything wrong with how Smith took the lead, Austin was making himself tough to pass so Smith gave him a little nudge, not enough to send him off but just to kill his exit speed which was his strength. If that sort of move isn't allowed in the BTCC then the BTCC has become DTM.

I did notice that the rear of the Audi was quite dented by that tap from Smith.
