I think Berger needs to look further up the ladder. GP2 gets stifled now because the guys stick around for so long and we end up with a talent logjam - but of course GP2 is not FIA sanctioned. We don't need more series, we need the average drivers forced out.

Look at GP3 this year - there's a heap of talented chaps in there, but how higher will they go because of funding?

I think the problem is higher up than that....all these series, all these hundreds of drivers, are aiming at just 22 F1 seats (And probably 20 if Bernie gets his way)

When people ask what the small teams do for F1, it's that. It lets Talent audition In F1 machinery, the more seats you have in F1, the more chances you have to discover the next Alonso and Vettel etc.

In B4 Paydriver argument. Pay drivers have been in the sport when we've had 30 cars and when we've had 18.....no matter the number there is always pay drivers so the more cars the more chance there is for non-paydrivers to get a shot too.

Oh of course, doubly so because now the top drivers stay around for so long. Alonso and Button are into their second decade in the sport, while Vettel and Hamilton could be around for another 10 years.

The best talent usually filters through, but if GP2 is supposed to be the feeder series, then we shouldn't have debates over whether the champion is really the best talent. It's become too much about experience - the two best guys this year have been Leimer and Coletti - do you really think they're F1 talent? You need to have a rule of maximum 3 years/60 races whatever it'd be in GP2. That'll free up GP2, free up GP3 and it all filters down. We never had problems wondering whether Rosberg, Hamilton or Hulkenberg were talented. Now you wonder how good Valsecchi and Razia were against Calado, Gutierrez etc.

I don't understand why market forces don't cause this - other than the drivers wealthy enough to fund themselves who sponsors these drivers who spend 4 or 5 years in a category?

LOLZ at the Marshall falling over the Dunlop sign at the start of the Porsche race (look to the back of the grid, the two standing on the grass walking backwards, LOLZ moment).

Woodhead saying there was no gap for Palmer up the inside, even though there clearly was, and Woodhead then pushed him onto the grass.

Could be a manic race this, as there is plenty of repair time after this race.
