I was cold, sun burnt and covered in dust but, fuck, it was worth it.

1. Clios. I know this word gets overused, but it really was an epic race. One of the best I've ever seen!

2. Juniors
3. BTCC. I wouldn't be surprised if Newsham shat himself there. Very scary moment.
4. Ginetta Supercup
5. Porsches

6. Formula Bored. They really need more cars.

What is going on at Motorbase? They've been nowhere so far this season.

Finally caught up on the days racing, really enjoyed it, think that's some of the best racing I've seen at donington.

Is it a new car this year? Other than mg with their performance breaks seems all the other teams take a while to get up to speed with new cars. Mat Jackson showed good pace in the final race.

The NGTC Focus was launched late last year and despite some teething troubles did score some wins (although helped by the equalisation). This year they seem to be nowhere. Jackson looked lost in race 3, completely incapable of truly challenging anyone. That's not Mat Jackson.

I don't think I've ever gotten so sunburnt whilst freezing my balls off quite like I did during these races!

The Clio race will never be topped for entertainment I don't think. I was down at the old hairpin in sight of the TV screen I swear I saw an overtake start at the end of the start finish straight on TV, go side by side through the Craner curves and the old hairpin, out the back of the circuit and finish the move into the final chicane on more than one occasion. Battles for 20th position were as hard fought as those for the win. Truly epic stuff and surprisingly clean albeit with track limits exceed at least half a dozen times each lap :P

I actually have remarkably few photos from the Clio race as I was too engrossed to pick up the camera :)

Don't suppose anyone capped and uploaded that Clio race?

And their next race is attttt......Thruxton!

Scene of my all time favourite Clio race ever, in 2003, 3 cars slipstreaming by each other lap after lap until the final chicane on the last lap where they had a minor incident and it was all over.
(not to be confused with the crazy 2002 race where I don't think we got much racing between Daniel Buxton being harshly rolled up the banking by Rob Huff (Nvr 4get! :p ), half the field piled into the chicane hard on oil with another near flip and once the red flag was lifted, another massive barrel roll! The 2003 race in contrast had nary a crash IIRC )

If these guys can race that hard and clean at Thruxton (and there's no first corner shenanigans to split the field) then we could well have one of the best Clio races ever!

(or it could rain and feck that all up lol )

That was a really chaotic year in Clios. I remember they had a huge shunt at Brands that year as well that resulted in Bob Smith (the purple car in the firs video) having to retire with a serious eye injury and Jason Templeton's car bursting into flames.

Was there a crash at Paddock Hill one year, where 2 cars rolled, one of which went over the barriers on the inside? Or did I imagine that?

Thanks for those clips guys, I only really got into Clios in 06/07. I was there at Thruxton when they dropped the oil at the chicane. That was in qualifying, and then the same thing happened again

Yeah, that was in 2005. There was another flip on the GP loop later in that race as well.

The last place I saw his name was in Production BMWs.

Daniel Buxton too, I think I heard Simon Hill mention him being a team manager these days, which is a shame as he was in Clios the same year as Huff and I always got the impression he was the more talented driver of the two (well, winning the title helped with that!) but just didn't get the same breaks.
