I noticed in the back of Autosport that AmD is willing to run the S2000 Golf next year or sell it for someone and that WSR is selling 2 of their BMWs

That's a relief. Any chance he could take Neate with him?

That's fine as long as ES Racing remains.

Adam Morgan may not return next year as he is struggling for budget.

His car's written-off as well :( .

That's a shame. He has talent and he's been unlucky, although he missed some glorious chances through his own errors.

Didn't Ginetta stop the free BTCC ride prize this year?

Yes. They gave a cash prize instead

Tony Hughes will not be driving next year but he will stay with Speedworks as a sponsor with the aim of getting O'Neill in the car full-time.

Should have these as a support series  :

Liam Griffin will probably not be back either. He's off to GTs (still with Motorbase).

EDIT: Also, reading through the 2012 thread, I have found the reason why the engine parity was bollocksed up. Look who was in charge of it;

Never read such a dejected season review from a team:

http://www.thorney-vauxhall.co.uk/thorneyRacing.html

Amazingly open and honest tbh, I hope 2013 is a lot better for them.

P.S From the bottom there, Fuck you Vauxhall, you're promoting your racing heritage in your latest ads, yet you spend all your money on Football. Arses.

Great article, thanks for posting that. Those are the kind of efforts that are increasingly rare in professional motorsport these days, and BTCC should be proud to have them.

Sounds promising for next year:

As for Thorney Motorsport running a team next year? Well it appears that hard work and perseverance do have their rewards, we have three large sponsors on board for next year so our plan is to run a pair of Insignias VXR-R's under a new team name which will be announced at Autosport in January.

That's the kind of honesty and charm that builds legends. These kinds of people are and should always be the backbone of the BTCC. Thorne could have bought a car to run (like Pirtek racing) but chose to do it the hard way. Kudos. Here's wishing him and his organisation and successful 2013.

Newsham should try to hook up with someone like Rob Austin or Tony Gilham.

Newsham would be a good fit with Austin... would love to see what he could do in a well sorted NGTC car.

So Tim, why not say this on TV...

Tim Harvey wrote:
ARMED with the same factory MG equipment as Jason Plato, and run by the crack Triple Eight team, Neate scored a total of 79 points from 30 races and finished 16th in the championship. Team mate Plato scored 376 points, 297 more than Neate, and finished third in the championship! Granted Neate has worked hard to raise the money to pay for his seat (rumoured to be £650,000) but that does not give him the talent required to do the car and team justice. Not only was his performance a complete waste of machinery, he failed to give MG or Triple Eight any help in the manufacturers’ and teams’ championships. And during the course of the series he managed to run into or upset the majority of his fellow competitors. Hopefully MG will be able to use his generous funding to put a quality driver in a third car for 2013
