Not long to go to the biggest race of the year, the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 at the 6.213km Mount Panorama Circuit.

Here's hoping for a non-HRT or 888 winner as the last win outside of these two teams was in 2004 when Greg Murphy and Rick Kelly when back to back for the KMart Racing Team. 2000 was the last non-Walkinshaw/888 win when Garth Tander and Jason Bargwanna won for Garry Rogers Motorsport.

To get in the mood start with the V8 Supercars Official YouTube Channel
http://www.youtube.com/user/V8SupercarsOfficial

All the races from 2012 are available in full, the last four Bathurst 1000's are available as well, and 42 of the greatest Bathurst moments available in this playlist

The full 50 Greatest Moments are available on the V8 Website

Hard to choose a favourite moment but possibly this one

I won't be seeing this live, either. It'll be an absolutely packed weekend of racing with this, F1 at Suzuka, BTCC at Silverstone (which I'll be attending more than likely) and NASCAR at Talladega. Oh, and WRC in France... :tumble:

MASSIVE weekend and probably the last "event" weekend of the year.

Possibility to go from 11pm Sat evening (if Motors TV are showing the support racing again) to about 11pm Sunday evening with constant racing action being shown. (If Talladega will start about 6pm UK time right after the BTCC finishes, anyway!)

Will be begging the pubs showing the Japanese GP for the podcast to open up EVEN earlier (or a LOCK IN lol ) to show Bathurst too but I know that's got a snowflake in hell's chance, sadly.
So, it's stay up all night and then go out to the pub for Japan (lol) or sleep and miss one of the best races of the year to appear fresh for the Podcast...decisionsss.... :8:

Gonna try and set up my own stream for this race to keep private to TBK members (not promising it won't be shit), would Justin TV be the best place to do this?

Probably, would make it easiest to private and have a chat running next to it too....

No doubt someone will come in here with a more complicated suggestion but Justin.TV works great for me.

I'd just beg you to not make it too high quality, don't go overboard on the HD and such otherwise I'd never be able to see more than one picture per 2 mins :p

As long as I don't set it up like an idiot (again no promises) it should just be 720p res max as my tv card isn't HD.

A great article on the chassis history of each Bathurst entrant.
http://www.v8supercars.com.au/champions ... fault.aspx

Also of note is that the David Reynolds car is listed as Number 52D not it's usual 55.
As one commenter speculated
Quote:
Look at Dave Reynolds car number #52D, FPR are announcing something on Monday, so could this be it? Are they going to do the car in the 1967 XR Falcon GT colours of Harry Firth and Fred Gibson, which won the race and had the number 52D? This was the first win for the GT so I say it could be.

Quite a lot of special one off liveries this weekend. One of the Kelly cars is running a black and gold scheme, looks the goods.

Can't wait to see Lowndes' car tomorrow, I know he's running a throwback Brock scheme, maybe a Marlboro HDT livery?
