Whincup drove his heart out all weekend. Fantastically aggressive, that's how a championship should be won!

This really hasn't been a year for underdog champions, has it?

Other than MotoGP with Marquez being the rookie not expected to challenge, yes its been a pretty predictable year all round.

V8's on Ten and Fox Sports from 2015.

Ten doesn't say what, or how many events will be shown live; however,

Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delany says the subscription service will televise ”every minute of practice, qualifying, support categories and the Championship races” live and in HD

So pretty good if you already have Foxtel. Not so (maybe) for FTA.

Ten say they are showing Bathurst, and "some other great V8 Supercar events." Hopefully that means the rest of the championship.

I'm not convinced only showing some events on Foxtel is a good idea, purely from a business standpoint. The vast majority in Australia of the population doesn't have pay TV. Foxtel, the main service in the country as of August had a subscriber base of 2.5 million. That covers all the major cities and most regional areas. When you consider that Australia's a country of about 20 million people, that's not a very large amount of the population, and there aren't really any other major services.

how much of the championship is covered by the anti-siphoning law? surely most of the races would have to remain on FTA because of that

According to Peter McKay's article today, 6 events will be live on Ten, the rest will be one-hour late night highlights.

Depending on how "late-night" the highlights are, it may not be too bad for FTA people, even though it's not exactly ideal.

In other news, according to Speedcafe, there has been rumours around making Albert Park a championship round, probably not for the first time.

The only way Albert Park will be a round is through Bernie. Skaife explained it last year that V8s didn't want to risk having to cut a points paying race ultra short incase of a red flag or the track being in primed shape for F1. Getting the tv rights back was just a bonus.
