They will never make Tamburello flat out again, forget it. Too many bad things happened there and combined with 1994 they won't do it, even with the safer cars. Just imagine the media reaction.

Fuck the media. For me and for racing sake we need to open up Villeneuve but not Tamburello. Yeah adjust it for overtaking but don't remove the chicane. The straight is too long for Tamburello to be opened up.

The problem is that when Imola was redesigned for 1995, the only concern was to stop people getting hurt and\or killed. Which is fine, but the chicane they put in at Tamburello is rubbish for racing, it's not tight enough. I'd still accept the chicane if they tightened that up a little bit and made it into a proper overtaking spot.

It was an over-reaction but it made up for the lax attitude they'd had for years before. But it was still an over-reaction. If it hadn't been Ayrton, most of the tracks on the calendar that were altered wouldn't have been

What boggles my mind about the Senna crash was the fact that he hit a concrete wall....tyre barriers were in operation long before then so why did they never chuck any at that corner?
It's not even at a dangerous point where you could say a tyre barrier would make it more dangerous because it would repel the cars back into the racing line, there was sufficient room...

But it's too late now, sadly. :(
