The Donington circuit may be in difficulties but everything seems set for it to host rounds 7, 8 and 9 of the 2009 British Touring Car Championship:

Thruxton continued the trend of different winners in 2009, with six different winners from the six races. Giovanardi, Turkington and series returnee Mat Jackson were the victors in Hampshire helped them in the title race, but consistency from Matt Neal enabled him to maintain his lead at the top of the standings:

Guess it's a bit late to cancel it now.

Is it Starkey's bridge where there's now little run-off because of the building work? I saw footage from the 6 nations bike cup there, it's narrow but there's still space for a tyre barrier, the bikes were racing through no problem. It didn't look much more dangerous to me than worst case scenario accidents on other circuits, like a bad crash on the Rockingham oval section or some areas of Croft.

Awesome news for Jackson. I'm looking forward to this weekend. Is there any news on whether Paul has raised the budget for this weekend? I remember him saying he had his doubts for the rest of the season.

There is a picture in Autosport magazine this week, the run off has been restored to almost what it used to be.

Vaulkhard qualifies third...! Now I bet no-one expected him to be the quickest Chevy this weekend.

BTCC Race 1 Grid. It looks like Gio's times have been disallowed, meaning Jordan is now on pole with Vaulkhard second:

Probably. There were quite a few ride height check failures during qualifying.

Edit: Oh, OK.

Take it as Leason is on that grid but Eaves isn't that he's been withdrawn?

What a performance by Vaulkhard, so close to the pole. :o

Feel sorry for Gio, but this championship is hotting up! I'd love for 3 different winners tomorrow to make it 9/9 for 2009. Jordan for a win, Vaulkhard for a win and Jelley for a win! Lets make this an open championship that goes down to the last lap of the last race at Brands

Just got back from Donington, the rains been on and off all day. In the Clio race Jeff Smith spun into the gravel on the warm up lap at Mcleans.

And weather.co.uk said there was a 0% chance of rain lol.

They've also upped their rain chance for tomorrow from 20% to 60% so we could be seeing some wet races.

Eaves blew a motor in first practice and the team are keeping the spare engine for Adam Jones.
