This is it, after 27 rounds across England and Scotland, the British Touring Car Championship heads to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in Kent for its final three races of the season, and to declare the 2009 BTCC Champion. Will it be Turkington, Giovanardi or Plato who takes the crown?

Rockingham didn’t make the championship any less clear with Giovanardi and in particular Plato eating into Colin Turkington’s lead until a manic final race of the day where Jason and Fabrizio both got involved in incidents and failed to score allowing Colin to extend his lead to 13 points over Giovanardi and 28 over Plato with 52 points on offer at the final weekend of the year:

Code:
1.  Colin Turkington     249

Can't wait for this. Booked the tv so I can't be bothered all day Sunday. Looks like itll be wet as well, which should play into Gio's hands.

Should also hopefully find out what Triple 8 are doing next year.

As you may have noticed, ITV's coverage is 6 hours 45 minutes, the longest of the season I would think.

Another thing to remember is that this is Johnny Herbert will be returning to the scene of his horror crash some 21 years ago:

Herbert unfazed by Brands Hatch return

F1 from Suzuka, BTCC from Brands, MotoGP from Estoril and then NASCAR. Can Sunday get any better than this?

They did have an earlier start one weekend to show more races didn't they?

Suspect it'll be a very long post-race for the final BTCC race, rather than showing the last FRenault race of the day

http://uk.weather.com have changed their forecast and are now predicting no rain on Sunday. The BBC's weather radar for the next few days seems to back this up.

Don't be surprised in Jason Plato rams Turkington off the track on Sunday:

Look what happened at Rockingham two weeks ago – he turned in when I’d jumped down the inside when he had sufficient room to stay ahead of me on the outside. Maybe it’s a sign he’s beginning to crack and making a few wrong calls and if he keeps that up then it could just un-do him.

I hope for Colin's sake that Anthony Reid is back on form this weekend.

That'll even it up.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Don't have the laptop this weekend, so I'm going to miss out on all the Christian Dick/Alice Powell based fun :(

Plato says something like that before every event. It's nothing to be surprised about.

The Porsches might not be so boring this weekend as there are 27 of them.
