After a five week break since the last event at Brands Hatch, this BTCC is back, and is heading to Oulton Park in Cheshire for rounds 10, 11 & 12 of the 2010 series:
Image

The big story last time out at a very wet Brands Hatch was the performances of the Team Aon Ford Focuses. Tom Chilton and Tom Onslow-Cole took a win apiece as their LPG powered cars performed strongly on the fast sweeps of Brands. Unfortunately for them, they performed too strongly for the likes of some people (I think we all know who) that complained and get their boost limited for this next round. Jason Plato had a nightmare meeting, scoring just three points in the three races and found his championship lead reduced to zero by Matt Neal who now is at the top of the standings:

Code:
1.  Matt Neal             67
2.  Jason Plato           67
3.  Steven Kane           59
4.  Paul O'Neill          56
5.  Mat Jackson           53
6.  Gordon Shedden        50

9.  Fabrizio Giovanardi   38
10. Tom Chilton           32
11. Andrew Jordan         30

God this season is turning out to be a classic one between Neal and Plato. I think if Turkington doesn't return now then he has no title hopes :(

A piece in MN this week claims that Bennetts wanted to get Turk out this weekend but couldn't get the engine ready. They're planning BTCC and/or WTCC later in the season

Porsche Carrera cup race 2 after the final BTCC race, so only one of their races will bore us to tears this weekend! :p

How many Clios expected this time? :p

ITV4 coverage ends at 6:30 (latest ever I think) so they'll be showing it anyway.

I assume it'll be dry and sunny for Sunday

Indeeed, but I'd rather that than nothing. My ITV4 signal has been atrocious (unwatchable) for a while now, so I might not be able to watch it on Sunday :(

Since it's on at the end can't you just...stop watching? Not like you'll be waiting for the next event.

Well, at least the Porsche races at Oulton are slightly shorter than at most rounds.

I was tempted to go to this one, but it's a bit of a trek across the pennines, so I'm going to Croft in a couple of weeks instead.

Waiting for Plato to shout: 'THEY'RE NOT LIMITED ENOUGH!!'

Anyway:

Quote:
David Pinkney is driving in pain during Oulton Park’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship round after a domestic accident with a Labrador dog…

Pinkney dislocated his shoulder while playing a game of rounders at a pal’s house last weekend and is still grimacing every time pressure is applied to the joint.

The 57-year-old from Harpenden, who drives a Vauxhall Vectra for his own team in the series, explained to btcc.net: “I was running, chasing the ball, but unbeknown to me was a Labrador dog coming in from 45 degrees. It’s chain was tied to a tree and as our paths crossed the lead ran out and tensed up in the air right in front of me. I was sent flying.

“I thought I’d broken my shoulder but the doctor said they thought it had simply become dislocated and then popped back into place. It’s still very uncomfortable but when I feel any pain at least I know I’m not doing any actual damage. Hopefully the painkillers will get me through this weekend OK.”

Pinkney finished this morning’s first practice session 15th fastest overall.
