ITV4 will show all three BTCC races from Brands Hatch live, after announcing that their coverage of the final round of the season will be an hour longer than originally planned.

The TV broadcast will start at 11:30am, an hour earlier than normal, meaning that all three BTCC races will be shown live, unlike at recent rounds, and that Fabrizio Giovanardi's title win will definitely be screened as it happens.

BTCC Series Director Alan Gow said: "As there is a strong likelihood that Fabrizio could wrap it up in race one, ITV clearly acknowledges that our many hundreds of thousands of fans would prefer to see it happen live on TV, as obviously they all can't make it to Brands Hatch. ITV should therefore be applauded for responding with this extra live coverage.

"This move further underlines ITV's fantastic commitment to the BTCC - its coverage of the championship is the envy of every other motor sport series in the UK and, indeed, many others around the world."

ITV4, whose coverage will include the afternoon’s support races, will continue to show live coverage of BTCC racedays for at least the next two years.

I won't be in the country to appreciate it, but good to see ITV making a special effort for the end of season and they've confirmed live coverage for the next two years. Guess BTCC could end up being ITV's focus for motorsport for the next few years.

It's a shame that there's only been one event with both Clio races on Sunday.

I expect a lot of carnage at Brands :D .

Nope, just the one.

Aside from the three BTCC races, there are two Formula Renault races, two SEAT Cupra races, and one race for the Ginettas, Porsches and Clios.

Good to hear that ITV are making some sort of commitment to the BTCC be extending their cooverage.

And as for the Porkas, when I was at Brands for the first Rounds of the season, there was only the one race on Sunday, the other was on Saturday afternoon. And, also the Porsches have been putting on some decent races, so dont actually mind two races - if they are good of course.

Ugh at Indy I'd even take a Porsche race over single seaters that will suffer even more from "Indy" syndrome!

Yeah, Alan Gow's right, there's no pleasing some people!

Well I'm pleased with it

That seems pretty sensible given the Clio title is wrapped up already, Zamparelli should win the Ginetta title, and the Seats is still open. However maybe I'd have switched the FRenault and Porsches because I think Adam Christo should've won the title whilst Harvey and Caine will still be fighting. But there we are. ITV are probably too busy showing features on the insides of Gio's house or something silly like that

Gow's amazing all the same
