There are five or six videos on Youtube of Neate's crash already - warnings and all, it's a serious crash.

That's why rolling starts are dangerous

Apparently he has a pretty badly broken neck. Sounds very bad

Damn, thats not good :(

It looks like a pretty huge crash, although its not too easy to make out what happens in that youtube vid

He got turned into the pit wall head on, and I think maybe got hit by another car - looking through 10 Tenths, 2 hits were mentioned

All the spectator vids concentrate on the Mosler spinning at first before going back to the other crash after it's already happened

Apparently they kept it quiet about how bad his injuries were, because most people that were there got the impression he only had minor injuries

John George has been released from hospital.

Only injury is bruising from his HANS device.

Only just got round to watching the races - I had to get them off racing underground as I was at work, and couldn't record the races like I usually do. Was good racing as usual, although it was a shame Plato couldn't do better in race 1 to take the championship to the final race, and Giovanardi couldn't pick up a win or two to finish his championship in style. It's been a great season though overall, with some of the most consistently good racing of any series all year. Hopefully this'll continue next year without SEAT; I think the series is in good hands with Alan Gow though, so I'm sure there'll be no problem. And hopefully these manufacturer rumours are true too!

Oh, and Darren Turner's a fucking wanker. Great to see that John George is ok.

Has Turner been given any sort of punishment? Even if it wasn't deliberate it was bloody stupid. Good job it wasn't Plato or we wouldn't hear the end of it :p

Nope no punishment at all. He's already said he won't be back in BTCC next season so he knew he could get away with driving like a twat.

He did phone JG in hospital to apologise and ask how he was though. To me it looked like a racing incident, even JG's account of the accident says no-one was at fault.

Looks like Plato was statistically the best guy out there this year but just got unlucky

Plato is usually the driver who spends the most time at the front of the field, but just can't seem to hold it together for a full season (whether it's his own fault or the car's).

I'll add some notes about the meting that haven't been posted yet:

Vicki Butler-Henderson was due to race a guest car in the Carrera Cup but crashed in Friday testing and wrecked the car.

The Clio race was pretty ordinary (by their standards). Three cars went off on the first lap causing a safety car, and there were a couple of sideways moments at Paddock.

More on Neate's crash. Seems that he clipped Sharpe's car (which according to Adam had a gearbox problem all weekend) or spun in avoidance, hit the outside barrier which knocked him out initially, spun back across into the pit wall and got hit hard in the passenger side by the works Ginetta of Richard Dean. The car looks a complete mess although that is after they cut him out. Apparently he's in a serious but stable condition

Those figures are interesting, thanks Danny. Just shows what a poor season Matt Neal had, he only lead 3 laps all season, whilst his team mate in the same car won the championship.

Neal was a big disappointment this year, he was probably the weakest Vauxhall driver even behind the inexperienced TOC (who impressed me a lot this year).

Yeah same here, i thought Neal would have a strong season, and be a championship contender.
