From when Simon Arron was a member here (he now works at Motor Sport Magazine!), from that funny F3000 results thread:

Simon Arron wrote:
It was often a wonderfully comedic series (albeit unintentionally so). I can can think of no other that involved plagues of frogs (Enna), practice having to be delayed because the organisers had forgotten to arrange a medical helicopter (Enna), rescue trucks towing cars out of gravel traps, flipping them upside down and continuing to drag them along with the driver still inside (Enna), medical centres being located in chicane escape roads and being inaccessible unless the doctor drove along the main straight while the race was in full flow (Enna, in the days before the Safety Car existed) and marshals who seemed to think the middle of track was the safest place to stand and wave a yellow flag (have a wild guess).

I do miss it.

No Enna :( . At least the races will be streamed next year, so we won't miss a third of the season like we did in 2015. I hope they can encourage more people to take part in the S1600 class, whatever happened to the Chevrolet Aveos that appeared a few years ago?

It's a bit rubbish that they have two rounds in France, although I suppose it's to be expected considering the nationalities of Ribeiro & Eurosport. Magny-Cours should provide some novelty for me though, as I haven't seen a race from there since the last time F1 visited the track.

Maurer Motorsport wanted to sell the Aveos but there was no one interested in buying them so far.

i think there could be more S1600 cars in ETCC next year as the S1600 class has been dropped from the ADAC Procar, so some new drivers/teams could join ETCC instead.

And just like that, some Peugeots appear!

Both races were streamed live on Eurosport Player, by the way (with commentary from Martin Haven).

The racing was good but it felt like I was watching TCR. Actually TCR has more field diversity, this was just Leons and Civics. Also the version I watched had a ton of video glitches, which got distracting after a while.

Sebastien Loeb Racing will run a couple of Peugeots at the Nurburgring.

19:45 look at fulin's pass in the grass, imagine if that finish was for first place instead

The racing seemed good from what little Euroshit showed of it during their amazing 15 minute highlights show. The fact it was commentated on by a retard Tom Gaymor only heightened the experience. It was rather obvious he was attempting to read a script, to the point where I think he'd struggle with this:

magny-cours was interesting. first race was meh until richard gave up the lead to serve a penalty...except he was never issued one.
second race was better with some good battles. richard and fulin are tied for points going into the last round

Kris Richard won the title, despite Jake Sanson trying to convince everyone of the opposite on the broadcast, but that's Euroshit for you. He won the tie-breaker going down to second place finishes.

And then there was the editing. In race 1, Stefanovski was all over Richard trying to get the lead, coverage goes to a break, comes back 3 laps later with Stefanovski leading. No mention of the pass in commentary and no replay. In race 2, there was a safety car for two cars off in the gravel and it looked like a fairly big shunt considering the damage. Replays? Nah, you'd be more likely to see a polkadot unicorn.
